This morning, a photograph was released showing Hollywood actor Johnny Depp alongside journalist Antonio Laje, who, in his spare time, works as a private jet pilot and brought the actor on a flight from Uruguay. Depp’s arrival in the country immediately sparked a stir and numerous speculations about his purpose in Argentina.
According to information obtained by NOTICIAS, Johnny Depp will stay in Buenos Aires for a week as he is recording music at the recording studio of Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez, known as La Roca Power Studio, located at his residence in San Isidro. This visit is linked to Depp’s previous stay in Punta del Este, where he was also invited by Rodríguez and his wife Verónica Lozano to the Yellow Rose ranch, where he had the chance to watch polo matches.
The friendship between “Corcho” Rodríguez and Depp is believed to have started through a mutual photographer, Ross Halfin, renowned for his work with rock stars. The two are said to have met last year during the Rome and San Sebastián film festivals during the premiere of the film Modi, directed by Depp.
In addition to their friendship, Depp and Rodríguez have a business relationship, as “Corcho” is involved in the distribution of Depp’s film throughout Latin America. They are also collaborating on the production of a wine, the name, label design, and packaging of which will be finalized in the coming days.
